2008 Board and TAB Election Results

Members,

OASIS is pleased to announce the results of the 2008 elections for the Board
of Directors and Technical Advisory Board. 

Bob Freund of Hitachi and Jim Hughes of Microsoft were elected; Bob Glushko
of University of California at Berkeley, Frederick Hirsch of Nokia, Paul
Knight of Nortel and Jeff Mischkinsky of Oracle were reelected to the Board
of Directors.  Patrick Gannon did receive sufficient votes for an elected
Board seat, but for personal reasons, will be unable to serve and has
withdrawn his candidacy.  The elected candidates will be seated at the board
meeting 31 July 2008.		

Toby Considine of University of North Carolina was elected to the Technical
Advisory board, reelected were Abbie Barbir of Nortel, Jacques Durand of
Fujitsu Computers Systems and Andy Lee of Changfeng Open Standards Platform
Software Alliance. These elected candidates will be seated at the TAB
meeting 1 August 2008.

The Consortium would like to express our deepest appreciation to departing
Board member, Ed Cobb of BEA, for his service and guidance since 2002.  A
special note of appreciation goes to Patrick Gannon for his various roles
held since joining the Board in 2000, including his noteworthy years as
President and CEO. OASIS also recognizes Bill Barnhill of Booz Allen
Hamilton for his long-term participation on the TAB.

Finally, we offer our thanks to all OASIS members who participated in the
2008 election process--by nominating candidates, volunteering to serve on
our Boards, considering the candidate pool, and casting  votes. OASIS
continues to be distinguished by its open election process and its members
participation in that process-- and the resulting quality of its leadership.
