Ed Briggs commented on MQTT-340:

Support of other versions of MQTT seems to be the most likely candidate to fill the role of 'some other specification'.  Some other specification seems to be too broad, but I imagine the author didn't want to limit the choices to MQTT only.  Is that overly broad wording what concerns you?
