Public Review of SAML v2.0 Begins

The OASIS Security Services TC has recently approved the Security Assertion
Markup Language (SAML) v2.0 specification as a Committee Draft and voted to
submit the specification documents for public review. SAML is an XML
framework for exchanging authentication and authorization information.
Comments are solicited from all interested parties and may be submitted to
the TC via a web form found at
http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/security. The public review period will
end on 19 Sept.

OASIS Adoption Forum Hotel Reservation Deadline is 31 Aug

The OASIS Adoption Forum, "Implementing E-Business Open Standards for End
Users and Public Administration," is a one-day event designed for providers,
integrators, and users of e-business systems for public administrations and
private enterprises. The deadline to receive a special group rate at the
event hotel is 31 Aug. The OASIS Forum will be held in Brussels on 6 Oct to
be followed
by OASIS TC meetings on 7-8 Oct.

OOSD Moscow 2004 Call for Papers Now Open

OASIS Open Standards Days (OOSD) Moscow 2004," Interoperable Systems:
Enterprise Architectures and Technologies for Just-in-Time Integration,"
will be held 12 Oct in Moscow. Submitted papers should focus on the
development and application of open standards in areas such as Web services
implementation, service-oriented architectures (SOA), business process
management and transactional security.

OOSD Moscow is hosted by UnitSpace as part of the OASIS Open Standards Day
program http://www.oasis-open.org/news/open_standard_day.php. This program
offers OASIS members the opportunity to coordinate a local event showcasing
the array of work being advanced within OASIS. OOSDs allow member
organizations to increase local awareness of open standards development.

Abstracts Deadline Extended for OASIS OOSD Sydney

OASIS Open Standards Days 2004, to be held 20-22 Oct in Sydney, Australia,
is the second annual Sydney e-business event for management and technical
professionals from industry and government. Requested topic areas are posted

Rob Figenbaum Joins OASIS Staff

The consortium is pleased to announce that Rob Figenbaum has joined the
OASIS staff as the full-time Manager of Technology Services.  Rob will be
responsible
for all of OASIS IT and telecom equipment and services; and will manage the
software development and webmaster staff.  Rob has significant experience
managing large networks of Internet servers and security solutions.  Rob was
most recently with Level 3 (Genuity), managing a team of UNIX system
administrators.  Rob's home is in Burlington, MA and he will be working at
