Subject: FW: [odata] OData V4.0 and OData JSON Format V4.0 OASIS Standards published
Congratulations from Haibo Li representing CESI (China Electronics Standardization Institute), an OASIS member organization. -----Original Message----- From: 李海波 [mailto:lihb@cesi.cn] Sent: Monday, March 10, 2014 5:05 PM To: Ram Jeyaraman (MS OPEN TECH); ralf.handl@sap.com Subject: [odata] OData V4.0 and OData JSON Format V4.0 OASIS Standards published Hi Ram and Ralf Handl, Congratulations to the OASIS Technical Committee on advancing OData V4 to OASIS Standards. As one of the key technologies of data access, OData connects data sharing and query among applications, so that data can be transferred faster and more conveniently among enterprise, cloud computing, and mobile applications. By now, many countries are advancing BigData and SmartCity applications. We believe OData V4 will have a broad application prospect and room for development. We are willing to work with OASIS on the standardization and popularization of OData in China! Could you please forward this to the OData Technical Committee? Thanks. Haibo Li From: odata@lists.oasis-open.org [mailto:odata@lists.oasis-open.org] On Behalf Of Chet Ensign Sent: Thursday, March 6, 2014 8:02 AM To: tc-announce@lists.oasis-open.org; members@lists.oasis-open.org; odata@lists.oasis-open.org; odata-comment@lists.oasis-open.org Subject: [odata] OData V4.0 and OData JSON Format V4.0 OASIS Standards published OASIS Members, We are pleased to announce the publication of our two latest OASIS Standards: OData Version 4.0 OASIS Standard 24 February 2014 OData JSON Format Version 4.0 OASIS Standard 24 February 2014 Overview: OData is a REST-based Web protocol. It builds on HTTP, AtomPub, and JSON using URIs to address and access data feed resources. It enables information to be accessed from a variety of sources including (but not limited to) relational databases, file systems, content management systems, and traditional Web sites. OData provides a way to break down data silos and increase the shared value of data by creating an ecosystem in which data consumers can interoperate with data producers in a way that is far more powerful than currently possible, enabling more applications to make sense of a broader set of data. Every producer and consumer of data that participates in this ecosystem increases its overall value. It was approved as an OASIS Standard by the membership of the organization on 24 February 2014 in https://www.oasis-open.org/committees/ballot.php?id=2568. OData JSON Format extends the core specification by defining representations for OData requests and responses using a JSON format. It was approved as an OASIS Standard by the membership of the organization on 24 February 2014 in https://www.oasis-open.org/committees/ballot.php?id=2569. URIs: OData Version 4.0 is a multi-part specification.
