The current text inÂ[3ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ System Query Option $apply|http://docs.oasis-open.org/odata/odata-data-aggregation-ext/v4.0/cs02/odata-data-aggregation-ext-v4.0-cs02.html#_Toc435016567] makes an incomplete statement about the return type of such a function in a sequence of $apply transformations: âIf it returns an entity set, further transformations can follow the bound function.â This leaves room to use also functions that return a value of a complex or primitive type, which does not fit to the general principle of âset in/set outâ for all transformations and the result of $apply being a collection of instances.
