2 ODF 1.1 Daisy Converter status - Dave Pawson

DISCUSSION: No progress. Depends on tools.

RS. Handover schedule close now.
PB. Public beta 23 this month.
PK. Duxbury braille Translator, have been working on ODF, maybe next month at CSUN. Text and spreadsheets and some Mass users want presentation file. Input ODF 1.1. Any objection to inviting Peter Sullivan to this list.
CA. Will it open ODF directly?
PK. Will open the file, translate into braille,
PK. ODF toolkit breaks out code for parsing reading writing ODF files. C++ library.
DP. Be nice if java wrappers could be provided.

DISCUSSION: RS. AFAIK, all have been invited back. All have access. SN was knocked off the list, am chasing it.

4 Whether or not to hold an F2F around CSUN?

DISCUSSION: What's neede.

PK. We made progress on 1.1 in Edinburgh. Could we do the same for 1.2 with presentations.
RS. Still early for 1.2? Michael said it's early.
PK. Could we develop presentations.
RS. Not much time between now and CSUN,
DP. Could we focus on presentations?
Ca. Finished a white paper on business graphics, could prepare something for CSUN.
PK. If Mon, Tues taken, options are Sat pm/evening, other evenings. 3 hours perhaps Thurs or Fri evening.
MP. I need a clear date. Friday night proposed.

DISCUSSION: RS. See PK blog.

PK. read one of blog entries. *****litem/Ulink****** . Good writeup on Sun plug in, from Mass. A free download from Sun. April should be finished. Preview will be Word only, rest by April. Other add-ins available, Open document alliance, also MS supported on on Sourceforge. Sun is built on open office code, to read and write MS file format. Has been tested with Jaws and ZoomText.

6 ODF 1.2 Current State, Future Planning

DISCUSSION: RS. Action items available, very high level, e.g. spreadsheet formulea. Metadata also. Could that aid A11y. will split spec into pieces, main and one for formulea. I see text grids, currently under discussion. Not clear what they are.

MT. Tables in presentations status? Will clarify.
RS. No proposal to group, we should wait and see.
RS. We need to look at metadata.
RS. Accessibility guidelines review. Two reviews posted to list from IBM. Some covered entire document. Some minor.
RS. Becky comment.
PK. Agreed withBG comments on section 2.
