Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Issue Comment Edited: (OFFICE-1508) Namedrelative cell ranges

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-1508?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16287#action_16287 ]

Michael Brauer edited comment on OFFICE-1508 at 10/14/09 5:18 AM:
------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I think we still should add a clarification.

Suggestion for 18.634 table:expression

Add: Relative cell range addresses that occur in the expression define an offset which shall be interpreted relative to the cell where a named expression is used. The offset equals the offsets between the table cell addressed by the relative cell range address and the table cell specified by the table:base-cell-address attribute.

We should adapt the descriptions of other attributes where table:base-cell-address is considered as well:

Suggestion for 18.598 table:condition

Add: Relative cell range addresses that occur in the condition define an offset which shall be interpreted relative to the cell for which a condition is calculated. The offset equals the offsets between the table cell addressed by the relative cell range address and the table cell specified by the table:base-cell-address attribute.

Suggestion for 18.595.7 <table:named-range>

Adapt description to:

The table:cell-range-address attribute specifies the address of a named range. The address can be either absolute or relative. *If the cell range address is relative, the table:base-cell-address attribute shall exist additionally. *A relative cell address define an offset which shall be interpreted relative to the cell where the named range is used. The offset equals the offsets between the table cell addressed by the relative cell range address and the table cell specified by the table:base-cell-address attribute.*

Suggestion for 18.480 style:condition

Add: Relative cell range addresses that occur in the condition for a table cell style define an offset which shall be interpreted relative to the cell for which a condition is calculated. The offset equals the offsets between the table cell addressed by the relative cell range address and the table cell specified by the style:base-cell-address attribute.

Please note the style namespace prefix for 18.480

> 17.638 currently contains the paragraph:
> If the expression contains a relative cell range address, a table:base-cell-address attribute must also appear on the <table:named-expression> element.
> The spreadsheet program Gnumeric allows for named ranges that are interpreted relative. This is useful for situations were one wants to write many similar formulas that for example refer to a certain number of cells to the top right.
