Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (OFFICE-3315) "such" as noise word- rewrite to remove
[ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-3315?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=20343#action_20343 ] Patrick Durusau commented on OFFICE-3315: ----------------------------------------- Dennis, In this case, it is a general introduction section, which has a little more leeway than other normative text. Granted it should be precise but its purpose is to introduce the following material. I am going to change this one as indicated and see if anyone thinks it is an issue. Recall that I have 30 cases to change so I don't think we can debate all of them on weekly phone calls. Suggest we make better use of JIRA to briefly state objections/issues to any particular one. > "such" as noise word - rewrite to remove > ---------------------------------------- > > Key: OFFICE-3315 > URL: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-3315 > Project: OASIS Open Document Format for Office Applications (OpenDocument) TC > Issue Type: Bug > Affects Versions: ODF 1.2 CD 05 > Reporter: Patrick Durusau > Assignee: Patrick Durusau > Priority: Trivial > Fix For: ODF 1.2 CD 06 > > > The use of "such" is a noise word on ODF 1.2. It appears 30 times so I won't list every instance of it. > For example: > 14.4 Event Listener Tables, 14.3.1 General > "Objects such as controls, images, text boxes, or an entire document can support events." > -> > "Controls, images, text boxes, or an entire document can support events." > The rest of the uses I have looked at are as easy to recast. > Suggestion: Recast to remove "such." -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira
