I don't think think we should make changes that are incompatible with Dublin Core Element Set.    Remember,  Dublin Core is described by an International Standard (ISO 15836).  If it needs to be enhanced, it should be done via that TC first.  We shouldn't be extending these elements ourselves.

Also, the analogy to dc:creator is not good.  That is for works who have several distinct creators.  It is not to give alternative lexical representations of a single creator.  In fact, if you had several distinct creators, and tried to express each creator in multiple phonetic representations, each with its own dc:creator tag, you can see the mess it would create.  There is no given way to know the association among them.

Ditto for knowing whether something has multiple subjects or whether it is the same subject with multiple phonetic representations.

So if we truly need something that goes beyond ISO 15836 let's either get ISO to revise DBES, or design something new that solves the problem.
