Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (OFFICE-3416) Public Comment:Could ODF support anonymous styles?

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-3416?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=21104#action_21104 ]

Robert Weir commented on OFFICE-3416:

What I meant is automatic styles is how ODF solves this problem. You still need content/style separation, but you don't need to define a common style that shows up in the UI of your editor as a named style. So just create an automatic style, give it a generated, random name, and you are done.

If we had many hand-authored ODF documents, like we have hand-authored HTML/CSS documents, then anonymous styles might be attractive. But I don't think that is a common use case.

Propose: ODF-Next feature request, and maybe send note to original submitter of comment, letting him know about automatic styles.
