Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (OFFICE-3475) not place to put RDFin flat ODF document
[ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-3475?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=22410#action_22410 ] Dennis Hamilton commented on OFFICE-3475: ----------------------------------------- I think there is merit to the comment. However, I don't think it is necessary to make counterparts of manifest.rdf, since the concept doesn't appear to apply (and if it does, it can be introduced via an <rdf:RDF> directly). Likewise, any external RDF documents are able to reference an <office:document> XML document and also refer to elements within it by existing means, including use of fragment identifiers that match ID attributes (normally xml:id attributes). It seems more useful to simply introduce <rdf:RDF> as a permissible element in choice of elements allowed in the <office:meta> element. I see no reason to limit that to extended documents, since this is no more an extension than is the occurrence of a manifest.rdf and arbitrary RDF/XML files as separate parts of a Conforming OpenDocument Document using a Conforming OpenDocument Package. 1. In Table 3 of section 1.5, add the namespace prefix "rdf" and bind it to "http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22/22-rdf-syntax-ns#" 2. In Section 1.3 Normative reference add [RDF/XML] Dave Becket and Brian McBride (eds), RDF/XML Syntax Specification (Revised). W3C Recommendation 10 February 2004, http://www.w3.org/TR/2004/REC-rdf-syntax-grammar-20040210/ 3. In the schema for the definition of office-meta-data, add an element definition, rdf:RDF which allows any child elements, text, and attributes. Add the rdf binding to the schema definition at the top. 4. In section 4.3.2, add the new subsection for element <rdf:RDF> and specify that it shall conform to the provisions of [RDF/XML]. Add a NOTE that specifies that, when the <office:meta> element is within a package (including an <office:document> within a package either in a separate package file or internal to an <office:body> element, for example), the interpretation of IRI References is subject to the provisions for resolution of references within packages. > not place to put RDF in flat ODF document > ----------------------------------------- > > Key: OFFICE-3475 > URL: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/OFFICE-3475 > Project: OASIS Open Document Format for Office Applications (OpenDocument) TC > Issue Type: Bug > Components: Metadata > Affects Versions: ODF 1.2 CD 05 > Reporter: Jos van den Oever > Assignee: Patrick Durusau > > The metadata can be stored in the ZIP storage of ODF, but there is no equivalent place in the flat file format. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira
