svg:d is not required. Moreover the description says that "This assists simple document viewers that are not capable of computing the path from other attributes." Apparently svg:d should be computable from the other attributes. I still do not see how that could be true since virtually everything appears to be implementation-dependent.
I don't think it is clear that the "do not intersect the connected shapes' bounding boxes" applies only to the perpendicular lines .
In any case, there seems to be a multitude of properties whose effect essentially are all implementation-dependent. Why do we have them. Different implementations are going to use them in different ways so that they become unusable for any interoperability, and in fact an implementation can't used them when interpreting an existing document since their meaning would depend on the generator of the document.
Specifically to the proposed resolution:

What are "leaving points". They still aren't defined. Should they also be "glue points" in draw:caption-escape?
