You have to change the command you use in CVS and remove the name of the project there too.

Hi

I have had real difficulty with this.

It seems that changing the host address in putty sometimes works.

If it does not, it seems that you have to check out a new version of stepmod into a clean directory L

Hi

Some of you will have noticed difficulty is accessing Sourceforge as a developer recently.

You may have noticed an error like this:

The server’s host key does not match the one PuTTY has cached in the registry.  This means that either the server administrator has changed the host key, or you have actually connected to another computer pretending  to be the server

The new dss key fingerprint is: ssh-dss 1024 4c:68:03:d4:5c:58:a6:1d:9d:17:13:24:14:48:ba:99.

If you were expecting this change and trust the new key, hit Yes to update PuTTY’s cache and continue connecting.  If you want to carry on connecting but without updating the cache, hit No.  If you want to abandon the connection completely, hit Cancel.  Hitting Cancel is the ONLY guaranteed safe choice.

This is due to a change at Sourceforge as advertised on the Sourceforge Site Satus page

https://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=2352&group_id=1

A good place to look if you are having problems.

( 2004-05-03 05:41:25 - Project CVS Service )   As of 2004-04-28 the CVS services will no longer function with the hostname of cvs.PROJECTNAME.sourceforge.net. You should change your CVS commands to use the host cvs.sourceforge.net (the fix for this under all platforms is to perform a checkout into a new directory using the new hostname) and that should resolve any outstanding issues that you may have (this includes issues relating to the SSH host key change warning, among others). This issue came about as a result of upgrading from BIND 8 to BIND 9 which doesn't allow for a wildcard in the middle of a hostname.

You will need to change your putty session to use the host: cvs.sourecforge.net

E.g.
