Subject: Help Required - Documents applicable to TASK_METHOD

I am developing the capability REPRESENTING_TASK_STRUCTURE (originally part of REPRESENTING_TASK), and am currently looking for requirements for the classification of a document assignment to TASK_METHOD.

TASK_METHOD is used to structure the TASK into a series of STEPS. The simplest task has only a single TASK_METHOD which refers to the user to an external document (in the role of METHOD_DESCRIPTION), in effect saying, look up the description in the manual.

I am suggesting the following normative categories at the first level of classification.

Method-description - a separate document providing detail of the task step;

Ancillary-description - a separate document providing extra guidance about how to perform the task step, e.g. diagnostics guide;

Supporting-documentation - a document providing details of the product or procedure, and used by the task, e.g. a drawing;

Reference-document - a document providing general reference information relevant to the step, e.g. a chart of tyre pressures;

Training-document - providing training on how to do the step;

Applicable-rules - asserts rules and regulations which apply when performing the task, e.g. safety regulations;

Non-applicable-rules - asserts that the referenced rules, regulations, etc, do not apply when performing the task;

Other - documents not covered by the above classification.

I would therefore appreciate any of the following:
a) Extracts from standards, company procedures, etc, which identify requirements to classify documents, or which provide existing classification systems, or alternative classifications.
b) Suggestions to improve the names or definitions of the classifications.
c) Suggestions of additional classifications needed at this level.
d) Suggestions of subclassifications required or useful.

Would members of the DEX 3 Team please reply in any case, to indicate agreement or otherwise.
