Subject: RE: [plcs-dex] Minor GI Issue
New version of GraphicalInstance is now
available on our web site, click on ‘help -> check for new version’
in GI to download. Should handle this now, without too many
new bugs, hopefully… ;-) Peter From: Tim Turner
[mailto:tjt@lsc.co.uk] Rob, I think this is perhaps a (minor) issue against
the Graphical Instance implementation? If I create a template which has an input parameter set
to a specific express entity type (which exists within a subtype - supertype
express hierarchy), I would expect that GI would respect this constraint on the
allowable entities that can be assigned to that parameter. Instead, it appears
to provide the supertype by default and ignores the type constraint specified
on the input parameter list. For example, if I were to specify Part as the type of a
parameter I would expect to see Part (or Part + any subtypes) in the GI model
during population. Instead it gives me Product and all the subtypes of Product,
including Part, Document and all the other subtypes. Representing_document_history is an exmple on dexlib at
present. You can see that the parameters specifically state that two document_versions
are to be used as the input parameter types, yet GI provides
Product_version.. regards, Tim ************************************************************************* This message contains information that may be privileged or confidential and is the property of Eurostep Group.
