Subject: Clarification of Dexlib Template Checklist item 57 - Urgent
- From: "Tim Turner" <tjt@lsc.co.uk>

The template
checklist statement reads;
57 |
All reference parameters shall have a defined entity in the
template. |
|
Is this statement literally the only case or
should it be re-worded to
57 |
All reference parameters shall have a defined entity
in a
template. |
|
Conceptual Impact:
Parameters that are defined in templates that are called/used by another
(enveloping one), will need to be represented twice, causing duplicity &
redundancy (& confusion)!
Case in
question: assigning_identification_with_no_organization calls
assigning_reference_data. The latter template provides a reference parameter
^ext_class. This parameter is also specified as a ref parameter by
assigning_identification_with_no_organization (in the instantiation path) but
this template does not define the entity itself within the
assigning_identification_with_no_organization - as required by the checklist. It
may actually have a significant impact on other
templates.
Case Impact: To
comply with the statement, if assigning_identification_with_no_organization
needs to provide the External_class (^ext_class) as a reference
parameter, it will require a specfic rework & reorganization of the
template.
Proposal: Modify the
checklist statement as proposed above.
If there are no
objections, I will assume that this is acceptable, close the issue &
ask that the checklist be modified immediately (by the checklist
authors).
Regards,
Tim
