Subject: RE: [plcs] Location Capabilities currently available on DEXLIB
Hi Nigel representing_product_location describes how the location of a product is identified. It says nothing about how the location is represented. It is intended to capture the history of locations of a product. It refers to representing_location which is supposed to describe how a location is represented. I.e the detailed description of the different types of location is described in representing_location
Yes we could rename representing_product_location to assigning_location. However we still need the details of how to represent the location. I assuming that is provided by representing_location Regards ------------------------------------------- -----Original Message-----
I have been trying to understand the differences in scope between C027 - representing_location and C049 - representing_product_location. Am I missing something? It seems to me that what we actually require is a single assigning_location capability, which can be used to qualify either a product or an activity. Such a capability would look very similar in content to C049, as documented by Rob B, but offering options as to how much detailed must be included to provide a compliant data set. Issues include : Do we require a full representation of the location
(probably not) As I need some means of identifying location to complete DEX 4, I intend to develop C027 to satisfy the requirement. Comments / opinions now would helpful to avoid nugatory work. Nigel
