RE: [plcs] Meeting on PLCS and 1000D Harmonization

In terms of perception of what the meeting is for, there are several things that concern me about this:

 

- a lack of early notice

 

- an up-front emphasis on two commercial organizations

 

- a muddy message as to the relationship between the two standards and what the meeting is seeking to achieve as a way forward

 

(- and even the very old PLCS logo, although you have zoom in to see it!)

 

Given that some key PLCS stakeholders are unlikely to be able to attend this session, I feel that there needs to be a clearer indication that this is not intended as a departure from the collaboration that has already delivered PLCS as a successful multi-national and multi-sector perspective of the domain.  I do not actually see this as a conspiracy but I feel that more precise communication would prevent anyone drawing this conclusion.
