RE: [provision] SPML 2.0 Face to Face Information

Erik Wright will also be joining us from RadialPoint at the SPML F2F. I have asked him what areas he would like to contribute within and I wanted to share the following:

"What I am able to contribute is a specific, concrete use case for a provisioning and IdM solution. What we are building at Radialpoint is, in my mind, a poster child for SPML and SAML, although perhaps "real-world" enough to present some unexpected complications. Please pencil me in for a 20-minute walk-through of the MSDP and its provisioning and IdM needs. This seems relevant to some of the content in the first half of Wednesday.

What I hope to get out of the meeting is a firmer idea of how a standards based approach can help us in both the short and long terms. Given that none of our partners have yet adopted SPML or SAML, I suspect this means finding out how off-the-shelf IdM/provisioning solutions can help us (1) deploy our internal systems faster and (2) integrate with heterogeneous 3rd party systems faster.

I also look forward to learning a bit more about how an OASIS TC works, as I have been trying to encourage RP to participate more actively in this sphere."
