I would like to include a quote from the Registry TC for this press release.
Below is what I would like to say.  I welcome your comments as well, so I
can be sure to include the sentiments of the rest of the TC in what I send
back to Carol:

"We are very pleased with the passage of the Registry Information Model and
the Registry Services specifications, and the confidence the OASIS community
has expressed in the work of the Registry Technical Committee.  We look
forward to moving forward with the specifications, working with other TCs
and Working Groups, and continuing the work to enable ebusiness
functionality and interoperability."

Please send me your additions, comments, etc. by May 8th so that I can
provide a good representative quote from our TC.

OASIS members:

I am very pleased to announce that the following committee
specifications have been approved by the OASIS membership as OASIS
Standards.

 -  Directory Services Markup Language (DSML) v2
 -  ebXML Registry Information Model (RIM) v2
 -  ebXML Registry Services (RS) v2

Balloting took place from 1 April to 30 April 2002, and the ballots are
available for public inspection at
http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-voting/200204/maillist.html The
OASIS TC Process requires that at least 10% of OASIS organizational
members vote in favour of the specification; for the balloting period
167 organizations were eligible to vote, so 17 votes were required.

I would like to congratulate and thank the OASIS Directory Service
Markup Language TC, chaired by James Tauber and Winston Bumpus, and the
OASIS ebXML Registry TC, chaired by Kathryn Breininger and previously
chaired by Lisa Carnahan, for their effort in creating these new
Standards.
