Chairs,
Your early and active response is
important to OASIS and our staff working on your behalf, please indulge
us. As you’ve seen, we are quickly making final arrangements for the
OASIS Symposium, this April in New Orleans.
Following the TAB’s 2 day session on Reliable Infrastructures for XML will
be the OASIS Plenary, a Networking Reception and 2 days of TC
Meetings. Your participation, and the participation of your TC is
*strongly* encouraged.
But more important than your participation is your report of your intended
participation so we can manage the event resources properly.
Therefore, I ask your support in two ways.
First, please notify dee.schur@oasis-open.org of your
TC’s intention to meet—to whatever extent you may know. You should
tell Dee if your
TC will, will not, or might be meeting and how many people you expect and
how long you would like to meet. Also, note any TCs that you would
like to meet jointly with, as well as any TCs you would not want to
meet at the same time as. (i.e. your TC membership overlaps with another TC,
therefore you must have 2 meeting times) Obviously, the better the quality
of your input and the sooner we get it the better. But whatever the
case, please give us your best guess now.
Second, encourage your
participating members to register EARLY. Our week of events coincide
with the New Orleans JazzFest. While this makes for a little
entertainment after sessions, it puts a great challenge on our meeting and
hotel facilities. So, everyone should register both for the OASIS
events, but also for the hotel. The hotel only makes meeting rooms
available in a ratio to booked sleeping rooms. Therefore, early
registration for the OASIS event and hotel rooms will ensure we can meet
your TC’s requests!
For additional event information, see http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/200401/msg00004.html for the recent event announcement.
Thanks for your cooperation. I hope to see you in New Orleans!
