Subject: RE: infoset

Any well-formed XML can be described by infosets. An infoset is simply a set
of definitions that identify and describe trees (information sets) and nodes
(information items) and the properties of such information items. It is a
way to describe and discuss well-formed XML consistently and is aimed at
helping different specs interact so that a local name or a target or public
identifier means the same thing across the board. That's all infosets are --
nothing fancy. My question then is whether this is perceived to be of any
use to the TC?

My understanding is that RELAX NG does not touch infosets at all.
