Subject: Minutes for RELAX NG TC 2001-05-31
Minutes for RELAX NG TC 2001-05-31 10:30 AM EDT (UTC -05:00) [Please post corrections and amendments by replying to the RELAX NG list.] Attendees James Clark Josh Lubell Mike Smith KAWAGUCHI Kohsuke Fabio A. Mike Fitzgerald Note: Norm and Murata-san were both on planes. Eric van der Vlist has dropped out of the TC. %^{ BTW: Where is James Tauber these days? %^} Next meeting: Thursday 2001-06-07 10:30 AM EDT (UTC -05:00) 1. [issue 28] <list> to replace <oneOrMoreTokens> and <zeroOrMoreTokens>. A bit of syntax elegance from Kawaguchi-san. Voted yes. 2. [issue 6] split include into two elements: include (at the grammar level) and externalRef (at the pattern level). Voted yes. 3. Namespace URI. URNs a bit complex and premature. Voted yes for http://[www.]relaxng.org/structure/m.n. [I am not 100% positive I got the URI right.] This URL may dereference a Resource Directory Description Language or RDDL document. See http://www.openhealth.org/RDDL/ where a RELAX grammar for RDDL (section 7.6) and a TREX schema (section 7.10) for RDDL already exist. 4. ns attribute will be renamed to namespace. 5. [issue 10] Versioning. Voted yes for m.n scheme. 6. [issue 27] QNames. Thorny. Deferred to next time due to Murata-san's absence. 7. [issue 3] XML base support. Deferred until XML Base becomes a rec. See http://www.w3.org/TR/xmlbase/. Has been at PR for 5 months! 8. [issue 4] Wildcards. Voted to defer until after RELAX NG 1.0. 9. [issue 12] Parent attribute on ref element. Voted yes for <parentRef name="mum"/> over <ref name="daddy" parent="true"/> 10. [issue 5] Attribute's global attribute syntax. Currently <attribute name="warming" global="true|false">. Suggestions include <attribute name="phonenumber" form="prefixed|unprefixed"> or <attribute name="applicant" form="qualified|unqualified">. Amid virtual shoulder shrugging, no action was taken. We need to put together an Oasis TC website. Some writers of text were requested. Mike Fitzgerald volunteered to do something (HTML done by Oasis folks). James suggested that the completed tutorial be the first output of the TC. James to update, reflecting today's business. TC to comment on it next week.
