Subject: NEW ISSUE: JCA Missing Normative statements re: connection/@name andactivationSpec/@name
- From: Bryan Aupperle <aupperle@us.ibm.com>
- To: OASIS Bindings <sca-bindings@lists.oasis-open.org>
- Date: Wed, 9 Sep 2009 14:09:18 -0400
Target: JCA binding specification (CD03)
Description: There are two locations
(lines 154-155 and 198-199) where statements are made about @name values
uniquely identifying JCA resources. These statements are not normative.
Specifically:
154-155: if
the @create attribute is “never”, the name
uniquely identifies an existing instance of the managed connection factory.
198-199: if
the @create attribute is “never”, the name uniquely identifies
an existing instance of the activation spec.
Proposal:
154-155: if
the @create attribute is “never”, the value
of @name MUST uniquely identify a managed connection factory defined in
the JEE node. [BJC20018]
198-199: if the @create attribute
is “never”,the value of @name MUST uniquely identify an
activation spec defined in the JEE node. [BJC20019]

| [sca-bindings] JCA TA Document proposal
- wd02 |
I've taken a pass at the TA document for the JCA binding.
You can find them at [1,2]. Items to note:
1) JCA CD03 spec - line 138 and 186 - What does restrict mean?
2) JCA CD03 spec - lines 154-155 should probably be normative
3) To my untrained JCA eyes, BJC20007 and BJC20008 are contradictory? Same
question for BJC20013 and BJC20014. If they are not contradictory, some
please explain it to me.
4) I have no idea what to specify for tags in each TA
5) Not sure that BJC-TA-20016 is even remotely close to correct
