3. Actions

4. New Issues

No new issues

5. Open Issues

No open issues

6. CSD/PR Progress

4 requests remain in the queue.

Response logged here: http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/sca-bindings/201107/msg00033.html

Discussion regarding normative references between specs:
http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/sca-bindings/201108/msg00004.html

7. TC Exit criteria

Discuss formal exit criteria for the 1.1 specifications for Web services and JMS.

This is the only current business remaining for this TC. One implementation already accepted by SCA Assembly TC, under the SCA Assembly TC exit criteria. Lack of agreement here prevents this and any other implementations being submitted to this TC.

Initial proposed exit criteria: http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/sca-bindings/201106/msg00052.html

Further proposal (unsupported) in minutes from 14 July: http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/42899/SCA%20Bindings%20minutes%202011-07-14.doc

[12:04] Mike Edwards: Greetings
[12:04] Bryan Aupperle: Meeting is quorate (7 of 10 - 70%)
[12:06] Bryan Aupperle: Topic: Approval of Minutes
[12:07] Dave Booz: scribe Dave Booz
[12:07] Dave Booz: Topic CSD/PR Progress
[12:07] Dave Booz: 4 requests are still in progress in the TC admin queue
[12:08] Dave Booz: Topic: TC Exit Criteria
[12:09] Dave Booz: Simon: Lack of agreement here prevents this and any other implementations being submitted to this TC.
[12:10] Dave Booz: Simon: There is some precedent in Asm TC now, who has accepted an exit criteria and has accepted an impl that meets the criteria
[12:10] Simon Holdsworth: http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/sca-bindings/201108/msg00010.html
[12:12] Dave Booz: Simon: Discusses the email
[12:15] MartinC: fabric3 has to do the bingings.ws if is wants to be fully compliant with assembly
[12:16] Dave Booz: Anish: observes that ASM TC has also received Fabric3 test output so if fabric 3 runs the bindings test suites also, then the disagreements melt away
[12:17] Bryan Aupperle: I'm back
[12:18] Bryan Aupperle: Resolution: Minutes were approved
[12:18] Dave Booz: MartinC: comment on wording; "as appropriate" seems wishy washy. Might be better to make a stronger statement about test case output. Something like "output from test suite is considered adequate evidence" and remove the "as appropriate" and "evidence may include".
[12:19] Dave Booz: Simon: concern that stronger words implies that the only grounds for acceptance is successful run of the test suite
[12:20] Dave Booz: MartinC: well, the TCs test suite should be enough
[12:20] Dave Booz: Mike: The output of the test suite is what was submitted to assembly for the Tuscany runtime
[12:21] anish I have to leave 15 minutes before the call ends for another call
[12:22] Dave Booz: MartinC: there has always been an assumption that compliance was essentially self policing
[12:23] MartinC: each implementation should provide evidence of interop/portability, as appropriate. output from the xxx testsuite is considered sufficient evidence
[12:27] Mike Edwards: "The Concrete Exit Criteria for the SCA JMS Binding V1.1 specification are that:
1) there shall be at least 2 independent SCA runtimes each of which are compliant with all normative portions of the specification as described in Section 8.2 of the SCA JMS Binding V1.1 specification.
2) Each implementation should provide evidence of interop/portability, as appropriate. Output from the JMS Binding V1.1 testsuite is considered sufficient evidence"
[12:29] Bryan Aupperle: Motion: Mike, second Martin: Adopt the words above in the chat log as the exit criteria for the JMS Binding specification.
[12:30] Bryan Aupperle: s/chat log/minutes/
[12:31] Bryan Aupperle: Resolution: Motion passes w/o
[12:33] Mike Edwards: "The Concrete Exit Criteria for the SCA Web Service Binding V1.1 specification are that:
1) there shall be at least 2 independent SCA runtimes each of which are compliant with all normative portions of the specification that apply to SCA runtimes as described in Section 6.4 of the SCA Web Service Binding V1.1 specification, and
2) there shall be at least 2 independent runtimes each of which are compliant with all normative portions of the specification that apply to a Web Service Callback Service as described in Section 6.2 of the SCA Web Service Binding V1.1 specification, and
3) there shall be at least 2 independent runtimes each of which are compliant with all normative portions of the specification that apply to a Web Service Callback Client as described in Section 6.3 of the SCA Web Service Binding V1.1 specification.
4)Each implementation should provide evidence of interop/portability, as appropriate. Output from the Web Service Binding V1.1 testsuite is considered sufficient evidence"
[12:34] Bryan Aupperle: Motion: Mike, second Martin: Adopt the words above in the minutes as the exit criteria for the Web Services Binding specification V1.1.
[12:35] Bryan Aupperle: Resolution: Motion passes w/o
[12:36] Bryan Aupperle: Martin: Can we accept any evidence before the outstanding PRs finish?
[12:39] Bryan Aupperle: Mike: Exit criteria only applies for CS vote. And all PRs will complete will finish by then.
[12:39] Bryan Aupperle: Simon: There is a slight risk of rework.
[12:39] Bryan Aupperle: Mike: Very slight risk.
[12:43] Bryan Aupperle: AI (Simon): Send e-mail announcing that Exit Criteria have been adopted and requesting submission of evidence of conformance
[12:43] Bryan Aupperle: Tom: Will we meet next week?
[12:43] Bryan Aupperle: Simon: Likely no agenda so I will cancel the meeting
[12:44] Bryan Aupperle: Topic: AOB Straggler role
[12:44] Bryan Aupperle: Meeting adjounned
