Subject: Re: [sca-j] ISSUE 49: Version requirements for SDO, JAXB and JAX-WS

The proposal in the JIRA was not acceptable
because it mandated SDO 2.1 in some cases and did not allow SDO 2.0. Here's
a revised version that fixes this problem.
PROPOSAL:
In section 1.2 (lines 39-40), replace
reference [3] and the link by
[3] JAXB 2.1 Specification
http://jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=222
In section 1.2 (line 51), replace reference
[7] by
[7] JAX-WS 2.1 Specification
In section 8.16, replace the paragraph at lines 1911-1914 by the following:
Complex data types exchanged via remotable
service interfaces MUST be compatible with the marshalling technology used
by the service binding. For example, if the service is going to be
exposed using the standard web service binding, then the parameters MAY
be Service Data Objects (SDOs) or JAXB types.
In section 9 (line 2205), replace the reference to JAX-WS by JAX-WS 2.1.
In section 9 (lines 2211-2212), replace the first sentence of the paragraph
by the following:
For the mapping from Java types to XML schema
types SCA permits both the SDO 2.1 [2] mapping and the JAXB 2.1 [3] mapping.

http://www.osoa.org/jira/browse/JAVA-49
TARGET: Java Common Annotations and APIs, WD 03, sections 1.2, 8.16 and
9
DESCRIPTION: Version requirements for SDO, JAXB and JAX-WS
The current specification contains inconsistent and ambiguous references
to the versions of SDO, JAXB and JAX-WS that are specified.
Section 1.2 (Normative References) refers to SDO 2.1 (correct link to OSOA),
JAXB (incorrect link to JSR 31, JAXB 1.0), and JAX-WS (ambiguous link to
JSR 224, which covers the 2.0 and 2.1 levels)
Section 8.16 (@Remotable) refers to SDO 2.0 or 2.1, and JAXB 2.0
Section 9 (WSDL to Java and Java to WSDL) refers to SDO 2.1 and JAXB 2.0
The above sections need to refer to a consistent version or versions of
these specfications.
PROPOSAL:
The 2.1 versions of all these specifications should be referenced.
In section 1.2 (lines 39-40), replace reference [3] and the link by
[3] JAXB 2.1 Specification
http://jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=222
In section 1.2 (line 51), replace reference [7] by
[7] JAX-WS 2.1 Specification
In section 8.16 (line 1914), remove the reference to SDO 2.0.
In section 8.16 (line 1914), replace the reference to JAXB 2.0 by JAXB
2.1.
In section 9 (line 2205), replace the reference to JAX-WS by JAX-WS 2.1.
In section 9 (line 2212), replace the reference to JAXB 2.0 by JAXB 2.1.
