Subject: [NEW ISSUE] Change Section 9.6.3 to be non-normative
- From: Mike Edwards <mike_edwards@uk.ibm.com>
- To: "OASIS Policy" <sca-policy@lists.oasis-open.org>
- Date: Thu, 5 Feb 2009 15:10:41 +0000
Target: SCA Policy Spec sca-policy-1[1].1-spec-CD01-Rev13a.doc
Raiser: Mike Edwards
Description:
Section 9.6.3 of the Policy specification "Web services
binding for propagatesTransaction policy" at present normatively defines
how the propagatesTransaction intent must be realized
for the Web services binding.
This is undesirable and overly restrictive. It appears
to require that the propagatesTransaction intent is always implemented
in
this way, regardless of the capabilities of the Web services
binding implementation and regardless of other ways in which the
transactional function might be provided. Web services
bindings should not be forced to implement propagatesTransaction
in this way.
Proposal:
Change section
9.6.3 to be a non-normative sample - ie describe the material as simply
one way in which propagatesTransaction might
be implemented in terms of concrete
policies for the Web services binidng.
Yours, Mike.
