Absent: Nick, Jan, Ashley (regrets) 4 of 7, quorum. SRU. responseType parameter. The new responseType will be a URI; as a parameter it needs to be a short name. So Explain will assign the short name. This parameter is optional, and the mime type (either httpAccept or accept header) is also optional, and you can have any combination - mime type plus responseType, mime type with no responseType, responseType with no mime type, or neither. When the request has a mismatch - mime type that needs a responseType, or vice versa, or invalid responseType for a given mime type, etc. - then the server should return an http 406 error. We need at least three of these extensions/responseTypes: ATOM, RSS1, RSS2, JSON. In fact perhaps two for ATOM. Tony will write these. Rendering. Ralph suggests that we drop rendering. We'll leave it in for now and debate it during review. Matthew will write WSDL. With these additions, this document should be ready to go. Everyone is tasked with reviewing it to see if there is anything missing. Scan. We need a section describing the scan clause, the existing description is too terse. It needs to explain the behavior of different relations. In fact, there should be a section which describes the parameters, rather than trying to describe them in a column of the parameter table. Scan needs to have all of the accept parameters, etc. that are in SRU. Ralph will re-write the document. Ray will write the schema. OpenSearch. Tony will work further on it, integrating the extension into the binding document. Tony will announce the extension on the OpenSearch list. Next meeting: December 7.
