Subject: draft slides for Conformance Group at F2F

Title: draft slides for Conformance Group at F2F

hi -

i've attached a draft set of slides for our 4:30-5:00 slot on Monday afternoon. Let me know of any corrections/additions? I've also included the slides we used at the preceding F2F.

Lynne, Mark, do you want to add a slide or two on Test Tools?

regards,

bob

Subject:        item for F2F agenda

hi Jeff, Joe -

for the Conformance sub-group discussion at the F2F, there are three things we'd like to look at:

- Conformance Clause v0.005, especially the recommendation on "Conformance Partitions" and mandatory/optional elements within each partition.

- Recommendation regarding distinction of validation and. certification of conformance.
- Conformance Program V0.004, especially preliminary recommendation regarding test groups/cases.
- Test tools and mechanisms applicable to conformance testing.

In order to try to make this discussion as efficient as possible, i'll put together a very short set of slides; even so, something like an hour would probably be worthwhile time for these topics. What do you think?  Would it be possible to schedule that sometime Monday afternoon (after 2pm) or Tuesday morning, so that Lynne Rosenthall and Mark Skall of NIST would be able to join us for that discussion (they'll be arriving about 1 pm)?

in addition, Mark and Lynne would like to take some time with anyone interested in exploring the last of these four topics in more detail, without requiring the whole TC to participate. Is there any provision in the agenda for subgroup breakouts? Or when would it be best to schedule such a meeting?

thanks!

bob
