Hi Eveyone,

I neglected to copy the list with this reply.

Cheers,

Thanks Dan,

I was out of pocket yesterday. I replied to Franks first pass at a
simplified Critical Success Factors (CSF) diagram, saying I thought it
was much better.

In that diagram "Action" replaced "Real World Effect" and "Social
Effect" and while that also is not an "ility" it captures most of what I
think we need to reference with that term. The only problem problem we
could have with it is that it is a formally defined term: Action:
"Action is the application of intent by an actor to achieve a real world
effect." This would seem to require mention of how Action applies to
"Social Effects" as well as RWEs, but I don't think that's much of a
stretch, and it fits with both Sections 3 and 4.

"Trust " likewise replaces "Governabiity" and "Manageablity," and it is
also a formally defined term, so this actually moves the CSF analysis
into a more precise relationship with the specification.

If Frank had kept the "ility" analysis I would have eventually suggested
something like what he actually did. I will be interested to hear what
your think of Sections 3 and 4.

Cheers,
Rex

If I've understood the conversation correctly, two possibilities that occur to me are "realizability" and "reification." The latter is not in "ility" form but "reificability" is not a real word so I hesitate to make that suggestion. My preference is "reification" because "realizability" suggests a possibility, not an actuality.
