How many of us are IEEE members and can get involved? As I’ve said privately to Bill already – is there actually a distinct benefit for IEEE to be developing a standard?

Thanks. I just sent an email introducing our work and suggesting we talk further.

IEEE CALLS FOR PARTICIPATION TO DEVELOP REFERENCE ARCHITECTURE FOR SERVICE ORIENTED
ARCHITECTURE
The IEEE Standards Association seeks participants to help develop a Standard for SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) Solution
Reference Architecture P1723(TM).
The Recommended Standard for SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) Solution Reference Architecture P1723(TM), describes a
standard framework for creating service-oriented solution architectures. This framework is independent of the underlying implementation
and products used to realize the service-oriented architecture (SOA) based solutions. This framework is usable in all classes of solution
scenarios. This standard is limited to design and modeling of service-oriented solution architectures and does not include design or
modeling of service-oriented implementations and supporting infrastructures.
The Working Group is now seeking system and software architecture technical expert volunteers to join the group from any industry.
A first draft of the Standard will be sent to committee members for review by mid-May.
