Subject: SOA Reference Architecture - New Version - Volunteers Needed

Hi -

The Open Group SOA Reference Architecture was published as a Technical
Standard in December last year. It has been input to ISO as a starting point
for an International Standards SOA Reference Architecture. The ISO committee
working on this has accepted it in large part but does wish to make some
changes. It is also being considered by a committee of the IEEE as a
possible basis for an IEEE SOA Reference Architecture. Again, the IEEE
committee has a number of comments and suggestions for change.

As discussed in yesterday's SOA Work Group meeting, we would like to produce
a new version of the SOA Reference Architecture that addresses concerns
raised in ISO and the IEEE, with the aim of achieving consensus between ISO,
the IEEE, and The Open Group on a common standard SOA Reference
Architecture.

This new version will be produced within the SOA Work Group by a team of
member-company volunteers. The team will look at the changes requested by
ISO and the IEEE, co-ordinate with the committees in those bodies to achieve
consensus, and incorporate that consensus in a new draft Open Group SOA
Reference Architecture for approval by Company Review.

If you are interested in participating in this activity, or believe that
your company will be interested but that you cannot participate yourself,
please let me know!

Regards,
Chris
