Subject: Re: [soa-rm] Fwd: SOA RA Part 3 18384-3 DIS

Sorry, folks. I am lost. I thought we deal with the OASIS SOA Ontology initiative... but this one is from The Open Group. From the consumer viewpoint "SOA RM Ontology" crosses with our OASIS SOA RM standard. This is a terrible mess!

Is this The Open Group's Ontotlogy going to ISO already?

Recently, I have noticed that The Open Group's wording re SOA becomes very similar to ours (which is, probably good) but I did not look deeper to check if they still define SERVICE as CONTRACT-INTERFACE.

I think that Peter's idea about pointing that person to review The Open Group's Ontology is good and might be helpful to us in protecting our separate position.

FYI, this ballot has been processed – there is a two month translation period until 10/12/14 (to keep in line with ISO even though JTC 1 does not do translation).  The actual ballot for voting starts 10/13/14 and ends on 1/13/15.

Some of them were not applied and some of them were left open for the editor to figure out what to write so I added that to all three

The Disposition of comments were circulated as SC 38 N 1063, 1064 and 1065 in May.  I did not circulate again.

Finally!

Here is the 18384-3 SOA RA Ontology DIS text.

(See attached file: SC38N0968_ISO_IEC_DIS_18384_3.080322014.zip)

This zip contains:

1. Markup
2. Clean DIS text
3. Disposition of Contents
4. OWL file (same as annex )

I applied a fix to the OWL that Open Group folks caught and changed the 'ID=' to 'about=#' in the samples and the OWL file.

I also created the mapping table between Part 1 and Part 3 and included where to look for information in Par 2. It is in the last Annex in Part 3. I Think were very consistent.  I did find a few little things and noted them in italics.  Where there is not italics the definitions are equivalent.
