Well, because (1) it pre-dates the DTO by 5 years.. and (2) it is/calls for a broader systematic adoption of innovation in the Australian Public Service cf. the DTO which is more a ‘point’ intervention), one could say the two are not related.

 

But it’s clear that the paper looked to the UK model (see figure 3.,3 on page 26) using the Cabinet Office (pre- dates the GDS), I suspect the establishment of the DTO may have been at least indirectly informed by the paper. The DTO clearly states its antecedents in the GDS model.

 

I am in London 27/28th April and seeing folks from GDS on both days and the AU DTO is on the agenda..

How does this still relate to the more recently established “Digital Transformation Office” (https://www.dto.gov.au/)? I’d be interested to hear some thoughts about that too!
