Subject: [xtm-wg] Plus ca change...
Nothing ever changes. For example, the idea of housekeeping topics is faithfully reflected in the distinction, in Aristotle's rhetoric, between two types of *topoi* -- *idia* and *koinoi* http://www.lcc.gatech.edu/gallery/rhetoric/terms/topoi.html Likewise, the idea of the ineffable subject (non-addressable information resource) is faithfully represented in Aristotle's *enthymeme*. S. P.S. I was led to dig up this trivial information by the claim that a notation can be "unambiguous". For that term, I would substitute "compelling to the target audience." Not that there's anything wrong with that! ===== <!-- "To imagine a language is to imagine a form of life." - Ludwig Wittgenstein, Philosophical Investigations --> __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
