I believe that while it will obviously be better to have a good prose
explanation of the Conceptual Model, the UML slides alone will serve
the primary purpose, in a pinch.  The primary purpose is to state the
nature of XTM information.  The UML slides do that.  As "teeth", they
will work.  "Teeth" are of the essence: when information interchange
fails, the finger of blame must be pointable; otherwise, the XTM Spec
is a useless, purposeless tool.  The UML slides can always be
explained elsewhere and later, if they are present in the Spec.  But
if they are not present in the Spec, XTM will be toothless.  XTM must
not be allowed to be toothless, and there is absolutely no reason for
XTM to be toothless.  We have the slides.  We must use them.  No
matter what.
