In the XML community, there exists CML, which stands for Chemical Markup Language, and, I think, Commerce Markup Language, and outside XML, it also stands for Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia. With that lone example, it seems hard to imagine that we will ever escape conflicting uses of XTM.
