I think the API should be related to the model/ wait until thats done,
otherwise it is ambiguous as to what you are manipulating.

The responses to my API suggestion are very encouraging.  They also
illustrate one of my key points, namely that everyone is developing/has
developed their own API.  Of course, it had to be like that at the
beginning.   But the sooner we have a public, standard API with a few
implementations, even if they are not complete, the faster TM computing and
use will be able to spread.

It's definitely time.
