Members of the UBL Liaison Subcommittee and invited observers,

Through the kind offices of several persons, I now have what
appear to be the essential documents related to the UN/CEFACT
reorganization approved at the recent UN/CEFACT Plenary meeting in
Geneva.  Attached please find the following:

1. Message from Ray Walker dated Wed, 29 May 2002 16:49:51 +0200
   announcing the approval of the new organization by the CEFACT
   Plenary.

2. A pdf file of the document TRADE/UNCEFACT/2002/08 (02cf08.pdf)
   that was submitted as input to the Plenary.

3. A ppt deck (02cf08c1.ppt) showing revisions made by the Plenary
   to TRADE/UNCEFACT/2002/08.  According to Ray's message, we can
   soon expect a revised version of TRADE/UNCEFACT/2002/08 that
   will incorporate these amendments.

4. A record of the decisions adopted by the eighth plenary session
   of UN/CEFACT.

Dear Colleague,

I'm very pleased to inform you that yesterday afternoon the
Plenary APPROVED our new organisation, and we are now in the
migration stage. That migration stage will finish at the meeting
of the first UN/CEFACT Forum, which is being held in the week
beginning 9 September 2002 in Geneva.

In approving the new organisation, the Plenary amended document
TRADE/UNCEFACT/2002/08 (the input document to the Plenary) and the
attached PPT shows exactly where that document was revised.  You
are free to distribute this PPT, and a new document, 2002/08
Rev. 1., will be officially issued within a few working days and
which will also be circulated to you.

I should like to thank all those who contributed constructive
comments to the review process, and I very pleased that we can now
move forward from the focus on organisational change and get back
to real work!

Finally apologies to colleagues, who because they are a number of
lists, receive the PPT a number of times.
