Subject: [ubl-ndrsc] HTML Documentation for 0p64

Title:
I couldn't resist pressing the button on XML Spy to generate
documentation for UBL_Order-Op64.xsd. Documentation for
UBL_Library-Op64.xsd and CoreComponentTypes.xsd was automatically included so
you get a complete picture. The results are attached
(unzip into an empty directory -- there's lots of .png files)
I
observe the following:
- First off, I am taken aback by the quality and volume of the
schemas.
- I find this HTML file much more navigable than the XSD's in
XML Spy. For instance, in XML Spy I've had trouble navigating from
OrderHeaderType/Identifier to cct:IdentifierType, whereas in the HTML it's
completely obvious. And of course it's a lot more navigable
than a spreadsheet or XSD.
- If you look at the definition of OrderType/Header (file:///C:/Temp/UBL_Order-Op64.html#element_Header_Link01546EF8) -- might have to doctor that link a little on your system -- it's
extremely clear (to me at least ;-) that the Header element is of type
OrderHeaderType. The former is the little white box to the left.
The latter is that big yellow dotted box to the right. If you want to
navigate to the definition of OrderHeaderType it's the first hyperlink in the
element definition.
- All of the little '+' (plus) signs (they denote aggregation)
are navigable! Actually all of the element declarations (aggregate
or not) are navigable -- I got carried away -- but it's still
neat.
- The documentation annotations come across fairly
nicely.
- There is a really nice "used by" cross-reference for each
type definition (e.g. cctIdentifierType file:///C:/Temp/UBL_Order-Op64.html#complexType_IdentifierType_Link02602E00).
This looks an awful lot like the documentation Arofan showed
us for xCBL. I wonder if we should post this thing on the LC SC
portal.
