Subject: Minutes of Pacific UBL TC call 15 July 2004
MINUTES OF PACIFIC UBL TC MEETING THURSDAY 15 JULY 2004 ================================================================== ATTENDANCE ================================================================== Jon Bosak Tim McGrath Stephen Green Patrick Yee ================================================================== STANDING ITEMS ================================================================== {Standing_Agenda:6} Calendar review Check on dates for eAC meeting in October and "East Asia Initiative Meeting, Seoul" PY: These are two distinct meetings. TM: Will be meeting with Hisano-san next week and will get agenda for eAC meeting. {Standing_Agenda:7} Event reports No calendar events this week. TM/SG: Interest appearing to grow in Europe (though nothing specific to report yet). ================================================================== ATLANTIC REVIEW ================================================================== Review minutes of the Atlantic TC call (see ubl mail list). TM/SG: We don't have a clear idea of how we're supposed to be operating with TBG17. There appears to have been a review period, but the public doesn't seem to have been aware of it; we don't understand how this fits with the "open development process." We're not sure that what we mean by CC is what TBG17 means by CC. We're not sure that TBG17 has clearly defined the level of abstraction of a CC. Members of the eAC appear to be confused about this as well. It's not clear how the UBL library can be aligned with the CC library as it appears to be developing. We note that our next TC meeting in Copenhagen immediately follows a TBG17 meeting in the same place. We will have several TBG17 members in attendance at the TC meeting, so this is a good occasion to discuss these issues. JB: Will add alignment of the UBL library with TBG17 CCs to the agenda for Copenhagen. ================================================================== ISSUES LIST ================================================================== Most of the Pacific call was spent reviewing the issues discussed in the Atlantic call. We are now caught up with the Atlantic call, and all decisions have been logged in the revised issues list. Some issues thought to need further discussion in email were successfully resolved during the call. JB: Will reorganize the issues list after entering results of this call. [See message Saturday 17 July.] We note that some issues require changes BOTH to the spreadsheets AND the schemas. We will have to track these especially carefully. [They are marked in red in the 17 July version of the issues list.] We also note the need to be 100 percent complete in compiling the change log so that the translations don't get out of sync with the release. ================================================================== COML SUBMISSION ================================================================== TM: Notes in passing that an analysis of the COML submission reduced the number of additions to the 1.0 library from about 120 to about 40. We need feedback on this from TBG5. ================================================================== WORK LIST ADDITIONS ================================================================== No additional items at this time.
