Subject: Issue 001 - DPWS - Clarify R4032 and R0436 w.r.t. other multicastbindings
This issue is assigned the number
001. For further discussions on this issue, please refer to this issue number
or use this thread. From: Dan Driscoll Please defer discussions on this issue until a time this
issue is accepted and is assigned a number. Description: R4032 and R4036 apply to WS-Discovery messages sent to
multicast although the intent is that these apply only to messages sent to
multicast under the binding defined in WS-Discovery section 2.4. There is also an editorial mistake in R4036. Proposed Resolution: R4032 and R4036 should be updated:
R4032: A Device MUST NOT send a Probe Match SOAP ENVELOPE if any of the
following are true: (a) the DEVICE is outside the local subnet of the CLIENT,
and the Probe SOAP ENVELOPE was sent using the multicast binding as defined in WS-Discovery section 2.4,
or (b) the DEVICE does not support the indicated CLIENT Security Protocols and
Credentials.
R4036: A Device MUST NOT send a Resolve Match SOAP ENVELOPE if any of the
following are true: (a) the DEVICE is outside the local subnet of the CLIENT,
and the Resolve
SOAP ENVELOPE was sent using
the multicast binding as defined in WS-Discovery section 2.4, or (b) the
DEVICE does not support the indicated CLIENT Security Protocols and
Credentials. |
