Subject: Issue 008 - XAddrs not controlled by MetadataVersion
This issue is assigned the number 008. For further discussions on this issue, please refer to this issue number or use this thread. -----Original Message----- From: Antoine Mensch [mailto:antoine.mensch@odonata.fr] Sent: Tuesday, September 16, 2008 3:26 PM To: Ram Jeyaraman Subject: NEW Issue - XAddrs not controlled by MetadataVersion Please defer discussions on this issue until a time this issue is accepted and is assigned a number. Document: WS-Discovery Location: start of p16 Owner: Antoine Mensch Description: The description of MetadataVersion does not mention XAddrs as part of the controlled target service metadata. However, the transport addresses of a target service are important information that may be cached by clients (especially when transport addresses use a numerical format, which is often the case for devices). Changes in this information (e.g. a renewed DHCP lease) should probably trigger a Hello message and increment the metadata version. Proposed resolution: Add Xaddrs to the list of metadata controlled by MetadataVersion
