i received the following note from our lawyers.  i suggest that we change the name of the 'rendezvou's attribute in correlations sets.

            I understand that the BPEL Committee is intending to use ‘rendezvous’ as an attribute value that is defined in the BPEL specification.  As you may know, we own a registered trademark for rendezvous in the United States and several other countries around the world for use with our integration products.

 

            I am concerned that use of rendezvous as part of the BPEL specification is likely to cause confusion between the BPEL specification and our products, or that end users may think that BPEL, is associated with or sponsored by TIBCO.  Not only is Rendezvous a product name but we also use it extensively as the part of Rendezvous class names and in the Rendezvous API.  Please take our concerns to the BPEL Committee with a request that they do not use rendezvous as part of the BPEL specification so that they can avoid infringing our trademarks.

 

            Please keep me informed on this issue.
