Subject: [UArch] processing model and interaction patterns
In response to [Processing model and Interactions patterns - not sure what we need besides what comes with Web Services. Need to discuss with Igor.] What I intended to be expressed in that subsection is simple and brief, but very important. After defining a role of a manager and a manageable resource, I believe, the spec has to outline that the manager, as a client to the capabilities provideded by the manageable resource, has to be able to process that infromation. The information may be related to various elements some may be other manageable elements themselves, other may be artifacts (e.g. messages and documents) other may be logical and abstract elements (e.g. my business, legal entity, etc.). The manager must be able to decipher understanding about all those elements from the capabilities of the manageable resources and information provided. To do so the manager has to process and interact in a certain way with the manageable resources. This is other than Web services. This section applies to the logical model, roles, responsibilities that we define in the MUWS architecture. The actual processing is later implemented by actual manager software and interactions happen using Web services, but semantics of those is management and that is what we need to call out specifically. This section may also contain concerns such as multiple managers, aggregated resources, etc. -- Igor Sedukhin ..
