Subject: Re: [wsdm] WSDM interop in GGF14
Fred raises some very intelligent issues about next steps. OASIS gets a lot of interest and questions about WSDM; this seems likely to increase. There are many other groups (inside and outside OASIS) that could be consumers of the methods. There also are quite a few events in the months ahead where visibility of the work, through demos or otherwise, probably would promote adoption. The announcement of the OASIS Standard approval gives you an opportunity that the TC or some of its members may wish to leverage. Obviously OASIS staff has some experience in assisting with this. I suggest that it's time for a few of us to join a meeting of the TC and discuss how (using communication channels, events, demos, liaisons and other assets), we can assist with adoption and education around the approved specs. I will confer with the TC chairs but probably will suggest that we attend one of the next few scheduled TC meetings. Yes, I really mean "almost > independent": even if we make an interop event in GGF14, it does not mean > that the GGF participants will come, especially if it's in a separate > room and/or in the tutorial/workshop day.
