Hi,

I think we need to go a little farther than this. In addition to portletHandles, I think we should also add a infoLevel fields, with predefined values, which allows the consumer to tell the producer whether it wants just a minimal amount of info (portletHandle and displayName), or all the info in PortletDescription. This is useful for use cases where the consumer wants to display a list of POPs, which can be potentially very long, and only display (or store) more info once a specific POP is selected.
We can of course define more info levels in between, if there is need.
