Subject: Re: [wsrp-primer] Can we get our samples going?

I wasn't actually waiting for them. I decided I wanted them as I got
back to the task. I realized that I really want to see the tutorial
approach more fully realized. For me that meant to have consistency
from Service Description, Registration and Markup to Use Profiles. I
came to this conclusion because I have been using other materials,
specifically the Web Services Interoperability Beta Testing program
for the government's Enterprise Architecture program and for
Emergency Services in general and the Common Alerting Protocol in
particular.

I also decided, or had it decided for me, that this particular
example needed to use Apache Tomcat and Axis for me, apart from the
collaboration I have going, because that is what the govt uses for
cost reasons I presume. However, I ran smack into a specific example
using XMLSPY that simply did not work as the Guide showed, and it was
damn near impossible to ferret out what the problem was. It happened
to be on their end, and not from the remote computer I was using to
test the networking connections.

From there I went on to testing Sun's Web Service Developer's Pack
and found that these different approaches, along with IBM's Web
Sphere all handled these non-normative instructional materials very
differently.

That's why I think we should consider including Appendices for Java
and .Net and maybe the Apache Web Services projects. It might even be
a good idea to make a long term plan to approach all these extras by
coordinating Interop, Conformance SC work to generate these materials.

Just a few thoughts.

Ciao,
Rex
