Subject: RE: [wsrp] [wsrp-glossary] Latest glossary document/html wsia-draft-glossary-01.xfr.zip

After reviewing this draft, I'd like to submit that a couple of the terms
marked for removal do, in fact, have relevance in a portlet specification:

Administrative Domain
Site

We could conceive of administrative domains as a means of supporting a
hierarchy of adaptations or properties related to portlet invocation for the
consuming portal. I think that as we drill into the details of portlet
lifecycle, authorization/access control, etc., we will find that it will be
useful to allow a nested hierarchy of these properties, and by implication,
the actor(s) who have the rights/responsibility to modify these properties
based on their domain association. So for example, a portal administrator
would set properties at the portal administration level for all users (e.g.,
caching), a portal sub-administrator (say, at the site level) may configure
access for certain user groups within the site. We wouldn't want all of
these properties to exist in a flat list, or else we'll need to devise some
other convention for marking some properties as "admin only"...and then you
get into the difficulty of accounting for the different nested property sets
that portal vendors may wish to support.

As for Site, I look at that as one portal-specific example of an
adminstrative domain, perhaps there are others, for example, user group.

Here is the current WSIA Glossary. Certain definitions are up for removal,
and all are under review. I will use this as the base for the joing
WSIA/WSRP Glossary.
