Subject: RE: [wss-m] Ballot to approve a Special Majority Ballot to approve WSS-M 1.1.1 as a COS has been set up
Since we haven't had a call in a while, I'll piggyback on this announcement to update everyone on where we are in the process. - WSS 1.1.1 was unanimously approved as a Committee Specification on Sep 9 [1] and the approved documents were published on Nov 26 [2]. - This ballot is the next step to becoming an OASIS Standard. - The TC has received Statements of Use from four companies: Microsoft [3], TIBCO [4], Oracle [5] and IBM [6], so we will submit the Candidate OASIS Standard for public review and balloting [7] to become and OASIS Standard immediately following the close of this ballot (on the assumption that it will pass :-). I'm going to cancel next week's call (Dec 14) because this ballot doesn't close until the following day. I'm also going to cancel the meeting scheduled for Dec 28.
